Karen is a Director & Founding Member at Scout & Cellar. She has always had a desire to keep her family healthy. Raising three boys, she cooked all their meals homemade and she has always been careful about what went in her family’s bodies. After several years of investing in real estate and managing their rental properties, Karen decided to embark on a career path with a ground floor direct selling company in anti-aging skincare. Her goal was twofold, to share the benefits of keeping the chemicals off your skin and out of your bloodstream and to show her three boys that their mother, a graduate of the University of Central Florida, was just as smart and capable as their father! Learning about her home-based business and still working around her family’s schedule she still managed to earn the company Lexus at her one-year mark. A goal she set for herself. Karen continued to build her business over the next five years.
In January of 2018, she was introduced to Scout & Cellar, a start-up, e-commerce wine company that distributes “clean-crafted” wines. Two things attracted her to Scout & Cellar. One, it was founded by a female, also a Level III Sommelier and that she was committed to sourcing additive-free, chemical-free, totally delicious wine from around the world and two, she would be on the ground floor of a company that was only 5 months old, never realizing she would discover that only 2% of wine in the world would pass their very strict standards and pass to be clean-crafted! She also loved the fact that Scout & Cellar partners with small, family-owned, biodynamic, and sustainable vineyards from across the world. Karen is again building a successful business being able to work on her schedule. Her team and customer base are continuously expanding and today she has a little over 100 business partners. She continues to do complimentary wine tastings in homes and businesses locally, as well as hosted in Nashville, north to Michigan and south to Florida.
Karen has been a member of the Business Women of Fayette & Coweta since 2014. She currently serves as a Member at Large and has been on the O Christmas Tea Gala annual fundraising committee for the last 5 years. She also supports many other local community causes and was a CCW Board member at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville.
Karen resides in Fayetteville with her husband Mike of 23 years. Their three sons are now grown; her oldest is a graduate of The University of Georgia with a degree in finance working in Buckhead, her middle son was recently accepted into the Navy’s Nuclear Engineering Program after 2 years at the Univ. of Georgia and her youngest son is at The University of Georgia, as an accounting major.
Karen loves to travel, play golf, meet new people and of course, drink clean-crafted wine with her friends. For information on her company visit https://scoutandcellar.com/karenkoenig
