February 26th Bi-Monthly Meeting

Join us at our next bi-monthly meeting with Maggie Worth from Wheat Germ Strategy who will share with us about Communications.  Here is sneak peak at what Maggie has to say.

“It’s one of those things we’re expected to simply know how to do.

Alas, it’s not quite that simple.

But the term “strategic communications,” for most people, calls up images of corporate double-speak and complex algorithm-based messaging.

Luckily, it’s not that complicated.

At heart, strategic communication begins with a highly doable four-step thinking process that kids as young as grade school can learn.  The first three steps were developed by a Yale professor three decades ago, and they still work – with a few modifications for technology and speed of life.  Somewhere in my 25-year career, I added a fourth step, and I’ve been using this system with excellent outcomes for more than a decade now.

Join me to learn these four steps and immediately improve your communications.”

Maggie Worth is an author speaker, strategist, trainer, and consultant, but she’s also a nacho connoisseur, DIY queen, vintage jewelry collector, and dog schmuck. Her professional specialties include operational efficiency, strategic communications, and all things Myers-Briggs. Personally, she excels at drinking excessive amounts of coffee, repurposing thrift store furniture finds, and evolving new ways to procrastinate yard work. Weeding aversion: there’s
an app for that.

Maggie has almost 25 years of strategic communications, organizational leadership, and project management experience, and has taught workshops on personality typing, professional and
creative writing, communications, organizational planning, and more. She’s sold more than 1,500 articles to print and online publications; written more than 5,000 speeches, white papers,
policy manuals, instruction sheets, and ads; penned a couple of textbooks; won a few awards; and crafted a goal-setting system for personal and small business strategic planning.

She’s a member of Mensa, a Clayton State double alum with an English-focused master’s and a cross-disciplinary thesis, a supporter of animal rescues across the country, and a wearer of
Chuck Taylor’s All Stars. She believes nothing in life is as important as we make it – except those things we routinely take for granted.
