February 26th Bi-Monthly Meeting

February 26th Bi-Monthly Meeting

Join us at our next bi-monthly meeting with Maggie Worth from Wheat Germ Strategy who will share with us about Communications.  Here is sneak peak at what Maggie has to say.

“It’s one of those things we’re expected to simply know how to do.

Alas, it’s not quite that simple.

But the term “strategic communications,” for most people, calls up images of corporate double-speak and complex algorithm-based messaging.

Luckily, it’s not that complicated.

At heart, strategic communication begins with a highly doable four-step thinking process that kids as young as grade school can learn.  The first three steps were developed by a Yale professor three decades ago, and they still work – with a few modifications for technology and speed of life.  Somewhere in my 25-year career, I added a fourth step, and I’ve been using this system with excellent outcomes for more than a decade now.

Join me to learn these four steps and immediately improve your communications.”

Maggie Worth is an author speaker, strategist, trainer, and consultant, but she’s also a nacho connoisseur, DIY queen, vintage jewelry collector, and dog schmuck. Her professional specialties include operational efficiency, strategic communications, and all things Myers-Briggs. Personally, she excels at drinking excessive amounts of coffee, repurposing thrift store furniture finds, and evolving new ways to procrastinate yard work. Weeding aversion: there’s
an app for that.

Maggie has almost 25 years of strategic communications, organizational leadership, and project management experience, and has taught workshops on personality typing, professional and
creative writing, communications, organizational planning, and more. She’s sold more than 1,500 articles to print and online publications; written more than 5,000 speeches, white papers,
policy manuals, instruction sheets, and ads; penned a couple of textbooks; won a few awards; and crafted a goal-setting system for personal and small business strategic planning.

She’s a member of Mensa, a Clayton State double alum with an English-focused master’s and a cross-disciplinary thesis, a supporter of animal rescues across the country, and a wearer of
Chuck Taylor’s All Stars. She believes nothing in life is as important as we make it – except those things we routinely take for granted.

December 18th Bi-Monthly Meeting – Diabetes Prevention: A Holistic Approach

December 18th Bi-Monthly Meeting – Diabetes Prevention: A Holistic Approach

Join us at our next bi-monthly meeting with Dr. Gina Gonzalez Johnson, D.O. who will speak to us about “Diabetes Prevention : A holistic approach”. Diabetes is one of the causes of heart disease, the leading killer in the United States. The number of diabetics is rising in this country.  It is extremely important to address the stages that occur before diabetes development–impaired glucose tolerance and prediabetes. She will discuss the physiology of diabetes and what essentially is causing it’s development. Her intention is to provide patients with the necessary tools to prevent diabetes and if patients are already diabetic, how to get them off of medications and prevent complications.

Dr. Gina Gonzalez Johnson, D.O.  is a board certified family physician who is passionate about preventive medicine, integrative medicine, nutrition and fitness.  She was born in St. Croix U.S. Virgin Islands after her grandparents emigrated there from Puerto Rico. She developed a passion for fitness early on as well; she was in a dance company, played basketball and ran track and field in high school and college.   In 1992, she was selected by the Olympic committee to represent St. Croix at the Barcelona Olympics as an ambassador and Olympic hopeful.  She finished out her college career as a 3x All-American in the hurdles and long jump and won the George Hansell scholar –athlete award at commencement. In 1999, she graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry—School of Osteopathic Medicine with top honors in Primary Care and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  Prevention is the driving force Dr. Gonzalez Johnson uses to help many of her patients. She believes that doctors are no longer spending quality time with their patients educating them in ways that they can truly understand.  If a patient is not motivated by their doctor’s words, actions, and compassion, they will never benefit from their office visit.  Dr. Gonzalez Johnson chooses to be a leading example for her patients. In April 2016, she opened up South Atlanta Integrative Medicine along with a fitness and wellness studio, Smart Pilates ATL where she could help patients move, nourish and de-stress their bodies. She truly wants her patients to live happy, healthy and fulfilled lives.  In essence, she wants to walk with them on their path towards complete health.  Or, some might say, run.

Open to members and guests*

Networking starts at 5:30 PM, Dinner at 6:00 PM and Business Meeting at 7 PM. Our meetings are held at Flat Creek Country Club located at 100 Flat Creek Rd., Peachtree City, GA 30269.
