About Us

Founded in 2009, the Business Women of Fayette and Coweta (BWFC) is a non-profit service organization of Fayette and Coweta County women who are business owners & business leaders that represent the fastest growing segment of today’s economy.

BWFC is a dues-based, 501C3 organization representing the interests of business women across all forms of industries who wish to give back to the community that has exhibited support towards them.

The organization prides itself on being an influence for community based action and is positioned within two counties to provide support on issues of importance to the women business owners and leaders.  Everything BWFC undertakes offers the unique attributes that women business owners and leaders can bring to the table and is designed to annually illuminate and transform a wide-range of needs within their community.

BWFC prides itself on adopting three different causes/charities annually within their own community to better provide a community outreach.  These causes/charities are nominated by and voted on the organizations’ members in good standing.

History

In 2006, Patti Kadkhodaian and Wendy Maguire had an idea to do a t-shirt with the logos of women-owned businesses on the back.  They decided to find a local cause in which to raise money and make the t-shirt idea a worthwhile fundraiser.  They decided upon the Cattle Barons’ Ball, an event sponsored by the American Cancer Society. After doing this fundraiser for a couple of years, Patti & Wendy decided to form a non-profit organization to become official.  In 2009, this group of women gathered to share information and create an atmosphere of professional community to further and strengthen their community interests.  That group quickly grew to become what is now known as the Business Women of Fayette and Coweta (BWFC). Since then, BWFC has risen to become a strong and unified group of women-owned and women led businesses across two counties.
