It’s Time for Elections

Greetings Members and Prospective Members of Business Women of Fayette & Coweta,

2009 & 2010 have both been remarkable years for our organization.  We have come a long way, baby!  We have made really important contributions to our community and we all should be very proud.

We are now moving on to the next set of goals for BWFC.

Presentation of Causes:

If you are a member in good standing, please consider presenting a cause for 2011.  The board has decided to go with just two causes for 2011.  Causes are being accepted now.

Please present the cause in written form.  In very specific terms, what you want BWFC to provide for this cause and how do you plan on getting the funding for this cause?   Additionally, you must be willing to chair or co-chair the project.  The members of BWFC are incredible workers and givers and will help you in every way.

Board of Directors:

Additionally, we will be voting in a new Board of Directors for our organization at the next meeting.  If you are a member in good standing, please consider a board position.  Click here to see the Board positions and responsibilities.

We will be voting in a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Member at Large, a new position with the BWFC Board and its responsibilities include: to provide advice and counsel to the Chair and Board. Attend Board and Executive Committee meetings faithfully. Serve as a voting member of the Board and of the Executive Committee.  Act as a representative or spokesperson for the organization at the Chair’s request. Act as a mentor and coach to senior members and emerging leaders to help them strengthen their leadership skills to serve our organization and causes.   These positions are a two-year commitment.

Committees:

In considering your commitment to BWFC, we would like you to consider work on one of our committees.

1.) Membership:

We are in real need of a membership chair and committee.   This is very much the lifeblood of the organization and we need a strong leader (or co-leaders) for this job.

2.) Website:

Additionally we need someone to take on the website.  Jalon and Betsy have done an incredible job getting it up and running.  We need someone to take over the maintenance of the site.
